Issue Position

I strongly believe that social, economic and environmental health are all interlinked and that by working together we can implement policies that protect all three. I am committed to workung hard to represent our area in these policy discussions.

I will continue to fight for:

Affordable, quality education
Constitutionally protected private property rights
Minimal government regulation on small businesses
Fair, affordable and responsible taxation and user fee systems.
A Balanced Budget: The most important challenge facing the next legislative session will be budgetary issues. The state's budget is approximately $400 million structurally imbalanced (which is exactly why I voted against the budget last session) and there is going to be many attempts to "enhance" state revenues by raising your taxes. This is unacceptable. MT citizens and small businesses can't afford the government that that has grown by over 40% in the last five years, and it must be remedied. I want to fight for a budget that will allow for a business friendly atmosphere that helps, not hinders, our ability to build an economy producing the jobs needed for this generation, and future generations of Montanans.
